Why give this five minutes?
This isn’t a survey, and you aren’t being asked to do Wild Calf a favor. You should get something useful first.
Bring the guide a real coffee problem: a disappointing finish, an inconsistent brewer, a coffee you cannot describe, a grinder you might - or might not - need, or a question no product page could answer.
In one conversation, it can help you:
- Choose coffee based on how you actually drink and brew it.
- Diagnose a disappointing cup before recommending that you buy anything.
- Run a guided tasting and notice what changes as the coffee cools.
- Turn a vague reaction like “something tastes off” into a useful observation.
- Ask unusually specific questions about a coffee or lot.
- Build a real Shopify cart without placing or charging an order.
The interesting part is what happens when it doesn’t know. Instead of inventing a confident coffee answer, it says so and puts your exact question into Dustin’s research or cupping queue.
Your question or tasting may help Wild Calf improve a coffee, correct a description, investigate an ashy finish, or explain a changing lot more accurately. Nothing you say automatically becomes marketing copy; customer insights are reviewed and curated first.
The exchange: You get better coffee decisions, fewer wasted bags, and a chance to learn something about your own taste. Wild Calf gets better questions and more honest evidence. Future customers get a smarter guide.

Give it a five-minute mission
- Ask for a recommendation based on how you actually brew and drink coffee.
- Describe a cup problem and ask for the smallest useful next step. It should be willing to recommend technique, coffee, a scale, a burr grinder, an AeroPress, or no purchase.
- Ask one question that depends on the coffee or lot in the bag.
- Say “Start tasting mode” for one coffee or a blind flight. The approved three-coffee flight can use your normal brewer, a validated simple immersion comparison, or an optional AeroPress path. No equipment is required.
- Share what you tasted. Describe the finish freely first, then answer the explicit ash/char/smoke check, drink-again, buy-again, brew-context, metrology/estimate, and anonymous-use questions.
- Build a one-time cart and confirm that the link opens a real Wild Calf Shopify checkout without placing an order by itself.
- Use the private contributor token to see your impact card. Optionally connect a preferred name/email; relationship, feedback follow-up, and marketing consent remain separate.

What your feedback teaches Wild Calf
Customer questions create a ranked research/cupping queue. Structured tastings create an owner-only digest by coffee and lot: sample size, repeat descriptors, rating and sensory averages, explicit ash prevalence/intensity, drink-again and buy-again rates, brew-method and roast/bag-code mix, and consent count. Raw comments never become public copy automatically.
Only Dustin can publish a customer insight. Publication requires at least three distinct consented tastings from at least three private contributor tokens, an owner-written anonymized summary, and the correct coffee/lot scope. The high-entropy token starts without identity and should be reused if the same person tastes again. A person may separately link a preferred name/email for relationship value; follow-up and marketing remain separate opt-ins. When the coffee changes, the insight can be retired instead of silently following the product name forever.
Honest limits
- The prototype can browse, teach, record questions/feedback, and prepare a one-time Shopify cart.
- The approved MCP-exclusive flight is three personalized 4 oz regular coffees, whole bean or one brewer-specific grind, with optional equipment. Checkout remains inactive until Wild Calf verifies current lots, Shopify variants, economics, price, terms, inventory, guided access, and real fulfillment. Do not expect a kit shipment yet.
- Shopify owns any real payment, tax, confirmation email, inventory, shipping, and fulfillment after you continue in Shopify.
- The MCP cannot independently send email or text, fulfill an order, or charge a card until the relevant service is connected and you have explicitly authorized the action.
- Twilio messaging needs an owned number, consent/opt-out handling, credentials stored outside Git, and a deliberate send confirmation. It is not part of this first public prototype.
- Recurring subscription and scan-to-refill confirmation are disabled in prototype mode; the system must never simulate a real charge or shipment.
